Last year, I scuba dove in the Fiji Islands. One afternoon I wandered into the tropical jungle along a path and local women were selling their wares on wooden tables set in a shade. I purchased these still – encased pearls from a smiling woman that apparently had painted them. We hand-signaled through the transaction and hugged to seal the deal.
