While at the Tucson Mineral Show, I fell in love with these unusually intricate and beautiful ocean fossils. I highlighted the quartz-like sparkle of the fossils with Swarovski crystal. The backs of the earrings are open so that you can see the beauty of the fossils from both sides. They have lots of kinetic swing. Wear these stunners to your next poetry slam.
Crystalized Ocean Fossils, Swarovski Crystal, Sterling Silver
3 1/4” long x 1 1/4” wide
PROCESS: I textured a sandy design into the sterling silver sheet for the backs of the earrings. I used an ornate gallery wire to create the bezel for the irregularly shaped fossils. Everything was blackened with patina, and then removed off the highpoints to reveal the textures. Swarovski crystal was hand-wired to delicate chains.
