As I experiment with a new medium, sand casting, I make many mistakes. This piece is what I call a “happy mistake,” when something does not come out as anticipated, but I can embrace it. Those lovely drips and texture, I hope to be able to do “on purpose” for future creations. This piece, as it emerged from the charred sand, I instantaneously saw as a shaman. Wear her when you wish to commune with ancestors or nature’s spirits.
